CSGSO Botball snack stand turns a profit of $643.85

Hello All,

Our CSGSO hosted a snack stand at the Botball last Saturday (4/10). We spent a total of $1362.65, including 1 purchase from Suppas, 3 from Costco, 1 from Walmart, and 3 from Market Basket:

Water and soda: $141.69
Chips: $28.47
Candy: $134.35
Pizza: $660
Hot dog: $57.89
Coffee, cups, milk, sugar, and gallon water: $64.91
Plates, ice, Wet Ones, and napkins: $48.87
Petty cash: $260
Return: -33.53
--------------------------
Total: $1362.65

Some notes for whoever runs this event the next year:
  1. Among all the soda we were selling, ice tea was not as popular as the others.
  2. Dr. pepper and diet coke ran out fast.
  3. We got too much candy. There were half left that we had to put them on sale.
  4. A few people complained on the quality of the pizza. We should consider ordering from somewhere else other than Suppas.
  5. People loved our hot dogs! I heard lots of nice comments. 128 hot dogs were sold out before 2pm!
  6. Coffee was popular too. We finished a 40oz bag of Dunkin Donuts ground coffee.
  7. Advertisement is important. I believe coffee was more popular this year than the last year because I put a Dunkin Donuts logo on the menu next to "coffee". Also, hot dogs was popular only after Andy made a sample and placed it on a plate next to the menu.
After running the stand, we have $1647.75 in cash, including $230 from Holly. Phyllis owes us $108.75 for the iCode Botfest kids. Therefore we made a profit of $643.85. Congratulations CSGSO!! Thank you, Andy, Yinjie, Karen, Xu, Zheng, Heather, Alex, Kate, Bindu, and all the Botball volunteers that helped us! Thank you Holly for giving us this opportunity!

This profit will be deposited to our CSGSO account (former WiCS account), and taken care by the university Student Affairs. This account will be used for our CSGSO's future events.

Thank you,

Beibei (Betty) Yang
CSGSO President
