Subject: [SIGCSE-members] Deadline Extended: CRA-W/CDC undergraduate research program
*Deadline Extended*
Collaborative Research Experiences for Undergraduates (CREU)
Application Deadline: May 10th, 2010 (was May 1st, 2010)
Sponsored by CRA's Committee on the Status of Women in Computing Research (CRA-W) and the Coalition to Diversify Computing (CDC), the CREU program is aimed toward increasing the number of women and underrepresented minorities who go on to CS&E graduate programs. Students have the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research with a small team (2-4 students) at their home institution during the academic year and optionally the following summer. Formerly administered as two separate programs - CREU and MRO-W - the program includes not only computer science and engineering research, but also collaborative, multidisciplinary research creating and using cyber-infrastructure. Each student from an underrepresented group receives a $3,000 stipend for their work in the academic year and $4,000 for the optional summer extension. Each team can also request an extra $1,500 to be used for supporting materials and activities.
